This fall, then men’s ministry at our mother community Westside King’s Church hosted a fundraiser dinner in support of Hands at Work Africa and Inn From the Cold Calgary.
The amount raised was just released to us. The final net total was $22,859.22 which is greater than our target of $20,000. The $22,859.22 will be divided evenly between Hands at Work Africa and Inn From the Cold.
Huge thanks to everyone who was involved. We’ll see you again next year
Hands at Work Africa
These funds will go directly to Toyota Community in the Democratic Republic of Congo. These funds will mean that 46 children will receive an entire year of care including food, education and basic medical care.
Inn From the Cold
Families come to Inn from the Cold seeking help and hope. They are stressed, scared and often have no-where else to turn. Every guest who walks through our doors is treated with dignity and respect. Their compassionate staff and caring volunteers offer them the supports they need to begin to rebuild their lives.
Their first priority is to meet their basic needs of food and shelter. They also provide baby formula and diapers, toiletries and other necessities.
But they do much more. Working with other agencies and resources in our community, they coordinate our support efforts to help families access the help they need to create brighter futures.
Inn From the Cold’s goal is for families to move into housing as quickly as possible. Their vision is a community where no family is homeless.
