Jesus + Evolution

As part of our new series “The God Debate: Adventures in Missing the Point” we have invited Dr. Denis Lamoureux from the University of Alberta to come down and talk about the relationship between his Christianity and his work as Evolutionary biology author and teacher.

He’ll be speaking and taking question as per our usual format.

Dr Lamoureux has published two books, “I Love Jesus, and I accept Evolution” and “Evolutionary Creation, A Christian Approach to Evolution” and will be speaking and taking questions.

The point of this series is to engage the people around us who are perhaps interested in the Jesus story but scared off by the stuff that sometimes seems to come along with faith. We’re not trying to create a new dogmatism but rather live in the midst of dialogue and inquiry; honestly be a community where we can question without penalty. So in this series we want to move past the sound bite wars and engage in a dialogue to find out what we can learn from science and philosophy to help us understand faith in a more robust context.

If you’re having conversations with anyone you know who is standing at the edge of faith this could be a great opportunity to invite them into the conversation.
